Message

Words are with knowing, and words are thought. Any words have their own history. We might catch the different view of scenery, if we know when, who and in what kind of context one said the word. We could know rather that the solidity of our world occured as a strange event in the history.

Research theme

Historical analysis of educational discourse

Detailed contents of research

Historical analysis of discourse on education.
1. Critical analysis of the relationship between the pedagogy and the governmental theory in the modern Western. I study particularly the concept of police in the 18th century France, which seems to be the matrix of welfare, security and education.

2. Genealogy of the concept of education in the antiquity. The origin of the word education is education in Latin. It derives from the verb educare, which radical sense was not drawing up faculties, but nourishing and growing up children. I trace the roots of educational thought through its archaic usages in the classics, while distinguishing another tradition of discipline.
