The Graduate School aspires to the construction of a grand design of education for the 21st century, and the training of researchers seeking the answers to various educational problems and professionals with high levels of knowledge and skills. To this end, the Department seeks education majors from both inside and outside the department with the strong desire to gain Master’s or Doctoral degrees, or those in the world of work with an undergraduate degree who want to advance their research skills through the attainment of an advanced degree. Furthermore, as a Department looking to the wider world, we actively encourage the enrollment of international students. Special entrance procedures are in place for mature and international students.
The entrance exam for Master’s courses includes a written exam of the specialist area and an interview based on the candidate’s research proposal in Japanese. Experience in society is prioritized for mature student applicants, who are exempted from the written exams.
The entrance examination for a Ph.D. course places great emphasis on research ability. There is an oral examination based on the candidate’s research proposal.
