Relationships between lifestyle habits and physical and mental health in community-dwelling populations

Seminar Introduction

People often say that “exercise is good for health,” but there are still many things we do not fully understand, such as how much exercise is needed, what specific benefits it provides, and whether it affects brain function and mental health. My research explores the relationship between daily exercise, lifestyle habits, and health using data collected through field surveys.

In our seminar, students identify research topics related to health through journal article discussions and develop a deeper understanding of health support by engaging in the collection and analysis of research data. Through these activities, the seminar aims to foster individuals who can contribute to education and society from broad and multidisciplinary perspectives.

Students I am looking for

  • Students interested in health-promoting behaviors and lifestyle habits
  • Students who wish to empirically investigate familiar health-related questions based on data, etc.

Graduation thesis topics

  • e.g., Association between exercise habits and mental health
  • e.g., Association between sleep habits and cognitive function and learning, etc.
