I have been researching on educational policies, mainly language and literacy education policies in Australia. I am especially interested in how Australia, which has supported a multicultural policy since the middle of the 1970s, manages the balance between the cultural and linguistic diversities within the nation and the unity as a nation. Educational policies, especially language (education) policies should play important role in Australia to cultivate its national identity. I have deep interest in the relationship between the role of educational policies/ education and the development of ideologies in a multicultural society.
